Mosaic sculptures at the airport

There has been a chill in the air for a few days. I started writing this a few days ago but had trouble with tech that I have resolved by turning things off and on again. I had not been thinking of the altitude much, but am now appreciating living about 4700 feet/1430 meters above sea level. We boil the water in the kettle before adding it to the pan so it can boil under pressure.
Along with reduced atmospheric pressure, I feel less metaphorical pressure than I had in a while. There is plenty to do and plenty to see, but there is flexibility and an opportunity to figure things out in my own time.
One of the joys of being in a new place is meeting lots of new people. A ukulele toting life coach who will be planning a Sunflower Soiree with me later in the summer, a fellow lover of cooking with a pet goose and two lemon trees, nurses and caregivers of many eras, and some sweet kittens.
Future sensory garden
Hanging out with the kids at Sunflower House has also been a great joy. It took three visits for me to pick up the sniffles, but I rested for a few days and recovered well. This morning I brought R's guitar to sing at the house. They were all excited to play along so I will definitely pick up J's idea to hand them their own instruments next time.
We sang some hits they all know including Baby Shark and Wheels on the Bus. I need some more practice remembering words, but I've been working on it. Taking part in an experiential internship is using more parts of my brain than I had imagined and it's awesome.
I am looking forward to crafting a sensory garden over the next few weeks with pieces designed to engage all the senses. I'm testing out different knots with macrame cord that I can use to make a noisy curtain and doing some research on benefits of sensory engagement for youngsters.
The connections puzzle on Thursday fit my research from earlier in the day just right
There are many more things in the works, but in an effort to bring my bedtime to a more reasonable hour I will sign off here. Much love to all and don't hesitate to say hello!
Spinning through space,
Lillie
P.S. This song seemed just right this week. Give it a listen if you get the chance:
