Peanut Butter Rankings

The not-so-humble peanut is definitely in my top three favorite legumes. In my first year of college, I joined a sports team and struggled to find gluten free options I was excited about. Peanut butter came to the rescue. The closest dining hall to my dorm was a nut free one, so my nut butter consumption was limited to my dorm and visits to other dining halls.
Over a lifetime of being a peanut fan, I've determined my own set of criteria for peanut butter. From there, there are all sorts of textural variations and flavors that make or break a peanut buttery treat. Though this list mostly pertains to eating and baking
Each of these meet my bottom line: 2-ish ingredients - peanuts and salt, always roasted. Nothing* else!
*well sometimes other things, but not many
Salty, toasty, delectable texture. This one hits all the marks. It also is easier to stir coming out of the fridge than most peanut butter.
Teddie is a good pick. I really like their flaxseed varieties for a little extra fiber.
Costco comes through with this peanut butter. Creamy texture and solid flavor. Because you can buy this in larger quantities, it's also my favorite for baking.
A childhood staple, this is the first peanut butter I have any distinct memories of. I like their crunchy variety more, but included the creamy packaging here for comparison.
When the refrigerator is nowhere to be found, pb fit comes to the rescue. An excellent hiking/backpacking peanut butter alternative, this one reconstitutes well. I prefer it a bit on the runny side. This is an exception to my peanuts and salt only rule, but because I am only using it for active things where quick carbs are important (backpacking and smoothies), I don't mind the little bit of extra sweetness.
